What if Tim Burton Were to Direct a Superman Movie?

Comicbookmovie.com has pondered what a Burton directed Superman movie would look like, apparently in the '90s a film was in the making but it didn't work out (we know how that is, anyone recall a little thing called Ripley's Believe it or Not?). Well, in Burton's addition to the Superman franchise, "Superman Lives" was to star Nicholas Cage (who, by the way, got Johnny Depp his first audition for Nightmare on Elm Street, kick starting Mr. Depp's acting career and steering him away from life as a musician) the main villain was to be Brainiac. You can see what Brianiac was going to look like in this youtube clip from www.timburton.jp (Pictures set to some wonderful Elfman music from Mars Attacks!) :

Are you anticipation Half-Blood Prince as much as I am? Check out http://www.telegraph.co.uk
for a list of 50 facts about the movie! Some that would go nicely on this site include:

– Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Bellatrix Lestrange, appeared in Sweeney Todd with Alan Rickman (Snape) and Timothy Spall (Wormtail).

– Jamie Campbell Bower, who appeared in Sweeney Todd, had hoped to get cast for Half-Blood Prince but instead appears in the Deathly Hallows as the young Gellert Grindelwald.

– Rickman, Spall and Bonham Carter are all set to appear in Tim Burton's forthcoming Alice in Wonderland.

– Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) both provided voices in Wallace & Gromit in the The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Bonham Carter voiced Lady Campanula Tottington and Fiennes Victor Quartermaine.

HBC on her role of Bellatrix Lestrange

Helena talked to the daily record about her role in the Potter films among other things in the following interview:

Harry Potter star Helena Bonham Carter insists she and gothic director Tim Burton are just another couple

WHEN first came to fame in a string of period dramas, she was hailed as film's ultimate English rose - and no one hated the title more than Helena Bonham Carter.

Yet for a decade, she won legions of fans as Britain's corset queen, twirling her parasol in A Room With a View and Howard's End. But the actress is now best known for her gothic characters, such as Bellatrix in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

"It's always puzzled me," she said. "I look very much like my mother's side, which is heavily Jewish. There's Austrian, Czech and Russian blood, so I couldn't look less English.

"And now I'm 42, so God knows that English rose has definitely wilted."

Yet Helena admits that when partner Tim Burton confessed he had never seen her early movies, she made him sit through her old period pictures.

When the director finally emerged from the movie marathon, she said: "He said, 'I can't believe it. I must be in love.'"

Despite their shared taste in big hair-styles, Helena and Tim couldn't seem more different. Helena is the great-great-granddaughter of former British Prime Minister Herbert H. Asquith, while Tim is from Burbank, a suburb of Los Angeles.

However, despite many predicting it wouldn't last, the couple have found an eccentric contentment together.

They currently sleep in his house, have breakfast at hers, and conduct their lives in their own spaces.

"It's fine, you can see each other when you want to,'' she explained."I'm surprised when people find it weird.''

Tim Burton+Johnny Depp=Brilliance

Johnny Depp has been talking about his upcoming projects with Tim Burton (and Helena, of course!) He had this to say about his character the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland:
“Well, certainly the book. The book has a basis for everything. There are little mysteries, little clues in the book that I found fascinating, that were keys to at least my understanding of the Mad Hatter, like him saying, ‘I’m investigating things that begin with the letter M.’ That was huge for me, because when you do a little digging, you realize you’re talking about a hatter, a man who made hats, and you go back and look at some of the history. ‘Hatters’ — there’s the term that this guy or that guy is ‘mad as a hatter.’ There was reason for that, and the reason for that was mercury poisoning. They got mercury poisoning because there was mercury in the glue. So they start to go a little sideways. (laughs) So I found out what the ‘M’ was and why they went nuts. So that became a huge thing.”

He also had this to say about their adaption of the TV series, Dark Shadows:
“I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins, and I have like photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six or something. (laughs) I’m very excited to do it.”
He also says that the movie "is happening". :D

Shannon Moore - Celebrity News Service Reporter

London, England (CNS) - Johnny Depp dropped in to surprise sick children at the Great Ormond Street Hospital on Wednesday in London.

Much to everyone's surprise and delight, Depp dressed up as his "Pirates of the Caribbean" character Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp visited several wards in the hospital and posed for pictures with the children and staff. It is the same hospital where Depp's 10-year-old daughter, Lily-Rose, was treated for kidney failure in 2007.

Depp has been in London promoting his latest film "Public Enemies."

It isn't the first time Depp has gone out of his way for the hospital. He previously gave the hospital a hefty donation of $1.5 million as a way to thank them for taking such good care of Lily-Rose during her stay.
