"The footage opens on Harry and also Voldemort. Voldemort is saying something to Harry about how his friends have hidden him and put themselves in danger because Harry won’t come out of hiding and face Voldemort.They also say the footage was really dark and very very good. Hopefully I'll stumble upon the clip soon (it doesn't seem to have been posted on the internet yet... has anyone come across it? you should post the link in the comments) so I can pass it on to you all :)
We hear Voldemort talking to Harry while getting clips from the film.
[I think he says: “You have allowed your friends to hide your existence from me instead confronting your fate.”}
Voldemort threatens Harry: “If you will not give yourself up, I shall punish every last man, woman, and child who tries to conceal you form me.”
Then we see quick clips of battles and people being hurt.
Finally, we see Harry come to face Voldemort, who says “The boy who lived come to die,” and starts to say the “avada kedavra” curse on Harry.
There’s also some footage we’ve seen from the trailer, like Hermione holding up her wand in one hand with her own hand bloodied (in the trailer, the blood was taken out).
We see the group of Harry Potter doubles that are used as decoys.
There’s the sky battle sequence with Hagrid on the flying motorcycle with side car.
Bill Nighy’s as Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour says “Our world has faced no greater threat than it has today but your Ministry is strong.”
Snape is sitting with Voldemort and the Dark Lord’s followers. He’s telling Voldemort that Harry Potter is being taken to a safehouse to be hidden and that it wouldn’t be wise to try and get him there.
Hermione, Ron, and Harry in hiding in the wood, listening to the radio for news. There’s a message about what’s happening, how their world is under attack by the Dark forces.
Ron yells to Harry about how he listens to the radio every day to hear if Ginnie or his other family members are being named among the killed. Harry angrily responds: “You don’t think I listen too?” Ron yells to Harry that he doesn’t understand what it’s like to be worried like this because Harry has no family, which incites Harry to attack Ron. Hermione tries to get them to stop.
The last scene is Harry and Voldemort with their wands locked, with Voldemort’s voiceover: 'Only I can live forever.'"

D23-- Comic Con Gets Disney-ized
If you've been keeping up with the site you'll know that beginning September 10th Disney will be hosting what has been called a 'Pure Comic-Con' Expo in Anaheim California.
The LA Times says: "The event at the venerable Anaheim Convention Center will be a chance for Disney to promote feature films such as Burton's "Alice," "The Princess and the Frog" and "A Christmas Carol" but also will serve as a big tent for Disney's varied empire. Attendees will not only be offered the chance to buy new teen-pop CDs and vintage animation cels, for example, they also will be pitched travel packages for the Disney Cruise Line.
Some components of D23 may eventually travel beyond Anaheim -- perhaps those vintage items, considering the success of the touring "Harry Potter" exhibit -- but overall the expo is viewed as an annual Anaheim tradition in the making.
The D23 Expo is $35 a day (or less with multi-day passes) -- for programming that runs from 10 a.m. past 11 p.m."

G.M.: You mentioned during the Focus Features' panel on "9" that you felt you shared a certain sensibility with the film's director, Shane Acker. I can't imagine that's something you experience too often.
T.B.: I don't. Also, too it was different enough from mine, but I felt a connection to it. Having gone through this process myself trying to get films made and done and how much of a problem it is to have that happen, I thought I could help him with that, I thought I could help protect him from the forces of evil and let him focus on making his film.

Pirates 4 Films Next Spring
Coming Soon talked to Oren Aviv (Disney's head of production) about Pirates 4 (which presumably, based on the end of the last film, will follow Capt. Jack and Capt. Barbossa as they try to find the Fountain of Youth.)
This is what Aviv said:
We’re going to shoot ‘Pirates 4′ in April or May of next year,” Aviv told us during our interview. “We are going to release it hopefully in 2011 is the plan.
It’s important to get the story right and it’s important to me to scale it down, because we can’t get bigger. The movies have subsequently gotten bigger and bigger and very complicated and they were satisfying on so many levels obviously, but I want to kind of reboot the whole thing and bring it down to its core, its essence, just characters.

Tim Burton Interview

What inspired you about Lewis Carroll and Alice?
It's not just the books, it's the characters, songs. There's something about the imagery that he created that still plays in people's minds. Anything that has strong dream-like imagery that stays with you is important to gets into your subconscious and creative thinking. I hadn't seen any movie version that I really liked, so the intent was to take that imagery and turn it into a movie… Every character's weird, but I tried to give them each their own specific weirdness, so that they're all different. All those characters in his imagery sort of indicate some type of mental weirdness that everybody goes through, but the real attempt was to try to make Alice feel more like a story, as opposed to a series of events.
What drew you to this narrative?
It's a fairly universal concept, these kinds of stories, like Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland. It's an internal journey. These characters represent things inside the human psyche. So that's what every child does – you try to work out your problems as you go along. Same as an adult. Some people get therapy, some people make movies.
Is this your first time at Comic-Con?
I came when I was a student. There were like fifty people and a bad slide show. So this is a whole amazing, different thing.

Be the first to see the Alice trailer!

Tim Burton Talks 9 and Comic-Con

Tim Burton’s done comic book heroes, big budget futuristic adventures and sci-fi alien invasion stories, yet the director has never introduced one of his films into the hallowed halls of the geek-tastic carnival that bows down in worship to all those genres: Comic-Con. 2009, though, is going to be Burton’s year.
On Friday, July 24, Burton will pull on his producer’s cap and bring his post-apocalyptic animated escapade “9” to San Diego. And when he does, he’s hoping to get over a traumatic experience he had at the convention in the late ‘70s.
“I went when I was a student at CalArts,” he told MTV News. “I’ll never forget this, and it’s probably why I haven’t been back since, because it was so terrifying. They had a slideshow for the original ‘Superman,’ and in the middle of it some fan gets up and just very angrily goes, ‘Superman would not change into his costume on the ledge of a building! You are destroying the mythology of Superman!’ And he got up and walked out, followed by other people. That scared the s--t out of me! So I haven’t been back since then.”
In this respect -- and luckily for Burton -- “9,” unlike the Man of Steel, doesn’t have a diehard following stretching back to the 1930s. What “9” does have is serious pedigree: the short film on which it is based was nominated for a 2005 Academy Award.
Contemporary movie buffs count the film as one of the most anticipated of the Con. Joining Burton at the Friday panel will be stars Elijah Wood and Jennifer Connelly, director Shane Acker and producer Timur Bekmambetov (“Wanted”).
The movie tells the story of a group of small, Frankenstein-esque clockwork creations as they battle an army of machines that has destroyed the world. “I just love the texture and stop-motion feel to it,” said Burton, who connected with Acker after watching the short. “I know animation is broadening its horizons but this just felt different… I liked the world that [Acker] created and the texture. It felt like a different type of animated film. The visuals were helping to create the story. I just felt very in tune with the look and feel of it.”
“Our goal as producers—if you see someone you like, you don’t want to suppress them—the goal was to create an environment where he can do his thing,” Burton continued. “My attitude is always to give suggestions and if he uses them fine, if not, okay. We wanted this to be grounded and slightly realistic in the similar vein to stop-motion, let the film breathe. We wanted it to have mystery and let it breathe.”
So, in addition to the cast and crew from “9,” what can we expect at Burton's inaugural SDCC panel? The man himself wouldn’t reveal what footage he planned on showing. “Probably a sequence or two,” Burton teased.
And what happens if some indignant fan decides to confront the panel? “It’ll be interesting to see how it’s changed over the years,” said Burton.
