Bruckheimer Talks Pirates 4 And Lone Ranger

http://www.cinemablend.com

Jerry Bruckheimer has been out and about, talking about the big projects he’s producing for Disney, in particular Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and The Lone Ranger. The guys at Coming Soon caught up with him, and got him to address some, if not all of the rumors surrounding those two projects.

He avoided addressing some of the more pressing rumors around Pirates, such as Tim Burton being considered to direct Pirates 4 or Russell Brand being cast in the film along with Depp, but he did drop some concrete facts about where things stand. For Pirates of the Caribbean 4, they’re just starting work on the script. Elliot and Rossio, who wrote the first three Pirates movies are back and working on the new sequel. It seems they’re also writing The Lone Ranger. Bruckheimer says they’re shooting for a 2012 release, and that they’ll do Pirates 4 in IMAX if they can.

As for The Lone Ranger, Bruckheimer laid some of those Clooney casting rumors to rest. Yes, Johnny Depp is playing Tonto, but Bruckheimer says they still don’t know who will be their Lone Ranger. They’re out to find a director for it first.

Update: Johnny Depp's 'Dark Shadows' Put On Hold?

16 October 2008 10:55 AM, PDT | From bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news

Some bad news for horror fans looking to see Johnny Depp return to the genre as Entertainment Weekly reports that the two of his upcoming projects appear to be on hold. "Two long-discussed Depp projects appear kaput for now: Shantaram, based on a novel about a heroin addict's adventures in India, and the movie version of the '60s vampire soap Dark Shadows, a childhood favorite of the actor's." Warner Bros. Pictures was set to bring Shadows to the big screen. Tim Burton was slated to direct the film, although he's now adapting the latest of Alice In Wonderland with Depp.

This weekend Tim Burton will be receiving the "Immortal Award" at Spike TV's Scream Awards and JoBlo.com will be there to bring you all the scoop from the event. But in preparation for the big day, Burton opened up to the Los Angeles Times about Alice In Wonderland, Johnny Depp, The Dark Knight and the chances of him directing a Sanford And Son movie. Seriously. On Alice In Wonderland: The story is obviously a classic with iconic images and ideas and thoughts. But with all...

British actor Michael Sheen has joined the cast of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, so reports Variety.

The thespian, who is next seen in Ron Howard's Frost/ Nixon (as broadcaster David Frost), will also star opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie Anne Moss in Unthinkable, directed by Gregor Jordan. That film looks at the ethics of torture after a terrorist threatening to detonate nuclear devices in the U.S. is questioned by a black-ops interrogator and an FBI agent, while 'Wonderland' is based on the popular children's story.

Alice In Wonderland is currently shooting in Cornwall, south-west England.

Johnny Depp MANIA! MAJOR UPDATES!

25 September 2008 9:45 AM, PDT | From The Entertainment Zone | See recent The Entertainment Zone news

Walt Disney Studios chairman, Dick Cook made a string of announcements about their upcoming movies over the next few years at the massive event at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles Wednesday! And, none other than our favorite "oddball character" Johnny Depp was at the heart of it all. Hold on to your Pirate hats... these announcements may just send you overboard in shock and excitement! The actor showed up on stage for a triple announcement which apparently ties him to Disney for some time. • That Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean 4. • That he will star as The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s next movie, Alice In Wonderland. • That Depp has signed on to star as Tonto in a movie version of The Lone Ranger, which will be produced by Pirates producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Johnny Depp wowed the audience shortly after the USC

It's official, Johnny Depp to be the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. Now all there is to know is what Helena will play. ;)

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

To quote Sweeney Todd: "I HAVE NO TIME!"

Sorry for the past neglect and lack of updates, with school starting, and other activities, I and chowzer have been left with no time....

There has been some inquiry about casting calls for burton/HBC movies, and just to let everyone know, as I hear about them I'll post them. So keep checking back for updates, I'll try my best to find some more time.

Also make sure to check helena-world.com and timburtoncollective.com for more information.

anyways, onto some news;

HBC will not be in Wild Target anymore... =[

Rupert Grint (i.e. Ron from the Harry Potter films) has joined the film “Wild Target”. According to one of his fan web-sites Helena is not doing the film anymore and has been replaced by Emily Blunt. They got the information from Rupert’s agent:

http://www.rupert-grint.us/wordpress/2008/09/08/emily-blunt-to-replace-helena-bonham-carter-in-wild-target/

Note: She is not able to film Target because the shooting schedule contradicted Alice filming; which it's still unknown (but a given) who she'll play... :)

Harry Potter Info.

According to two reviews from the Leaky Cauldron Helena Bonham Carter / Bellatrix is in at least two scenes:

(Spoiler alert if you click on the links below)
- Attack of the Burrow
- Cave Scene / Astronomy Tower

Make sure to checkout Helena-world.com for sightings and pictures of Billy Ray and Nell

Harry Potter Delay Makes For Outraged Fans and an Official Statement From Head of Warner Bros.

Alan Horn issues statement regarding HBP delay
Alan Horn, President of Warner Brothers, has issued a statement in response to the large amount of disappointment from their decision to delay Half-Blood Prince until July 17th, 2009:

Many of you have written to me to express your disappointment in our moving "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" to Summer 2009. Please be assured that we share your love for Harry Potter and would certainly never do anything to hurt any of the films. Over the past 10 years, we have nurtured and protected each film, and the integrity of the books upon which they are based, to the best of our ability. The decision to move "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was not taken lightly, and was never intended to upset our Harry Potter fans. We know you have built this series into what it is, and we thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support. If I may offer a silver lining: there would have been a two-year gap between "Half-Blood Prince" and the much-anticipated first part of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which opens in November 2010. So although we have to wait a little longer for "Half-Blood Prince," the wait from that film until "Deathly Hallows" will be less than 18 months. I am sorry to have disappointed you now, but if you hold on a little longer, I believe it will be worth the wait.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx

Also, in case you hadn't heard of the petition going around protesting the delay, it got more than 35,000 signatures. Read more at http://www.aceshowbiz.com

Also also, if you wanted to send a letter yourself (as the site keepers did) we sent ours to WarnerBros@email-warnerbros.com here's what it said (you know, for a little inspiration... and I'm just so proud of it!)

I think that it's bloody outrageous that the next Harry Potter movie has been bumped back to next year, and that Twilight will take it's place. If you all are worried about people not being excited for the movies now that the book series is over, and maybe you wanted to promote it better, but bumping it back is just upsetting everyone who's excited about it now.
From what I understand (entertainment weekly's article about it, muggle.net and rumors I've heard) you it to earn as much as dark knight did, but I think it's not worth it because now I (and my friends who I've talked to about it with) don't want to go out and see Warner films in the theater. So by postponing half blood release it's made me loose interest in the series and other movies (and now I won't be able to go and see twilight without thinking about how much better it would have been to see Harry Potter).
As you see this has obviously gotten people riled up (a petition with over 23000 signatures I understand), these are some things I've heard:
"...bloody people, naive, ignorant, LAME!", " Absolutely ridiculous... cowards!", and " Warner's decision was extremely empty-headed and pitifully stupid."

Well, I thought it was the courteous thing to do, bringing all of this to your attention, and I would greatly appreciate it if you would pass this on to the correct authority if this is an inappropriate address to send this to. I'd love to hear back too, yours most sincerely, Sierra

Waiting for Helena!

Sadly, as many of you have probably heard, the sixth installment of the popular "Harry Potter" films (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) has been postponed to hit theatres next summer. In Half-Blood Prince, Helena reprises the role of evil witch Bellatrix Lestrange, and seeks to please her master (the dark wizard Voldemort) in any way possible, be it hexing people... or killing them. Personally, I feel a bit like hexing Warner Bros. myself, but sadly I haven't any magical powers. If you all haven't died before Half-Blood Prince makes it's apperance on the 17th of July 2009, go and see it.
