Pirates 4 Update

Director Rob Marshall says that if Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides filming happens it will "start in the summer, and we'll see. I'm excited. If it happens, it happens. I'd be thrilled. I just love Johnny and I'm excited about the genre. I would need a script first," he said. "It all comes from the script and the story. You serve the story and you find out what the story is and then you work from there. That's it, it's simple."

New Alice Trailer!

A new Alice in Wonderland trailer came out midnight last night, if you haven't seen it yet, or want to watch it again for the 50th time like me, (it's so amazing!) here it is:

Tom Felton Talks HBC

In a recent interview by MTV, actor Tom Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films) had this to say about Helena:

"I've rarely had an opportunity to work with the evil family. I'm working with Helena Bonham Carter, who's a lovely lady and also a completely scary witch when she wants to be. I'm enjoying working with adult cast tremendously."

Dark Shadows to Beginning Filming Next Fall

After Alice Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (and Helena, presumably) are to team up again for their adaption of the ol TV show, Dark Shadows, which should begin filming in September 2010.
Producer Graham King says:

"We're actually going to shoot that film next September/October with Tim Burton and Johnny. We've been working on the script a lot, even though he's working on 'Alice.' We've been given a script. John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride) wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production, as I say, September or October of next year."

Frankenweenie Character Breakdown and Details Surface

For quite some time now there has been bits of talk of Tim Burton remaking his short film, Frankenweenie. Now Character descriptions and some details about the project have shown up, keeping our hope for the movie alive. The following character voices for the stop-motion movie are all aged 8-11, so no clues on, if any, adult roles yet (and if Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter will offer up their voices for the movie).

[EDGAR] A Caucasian Male 8-11 years old. Edgar is a needy little kid who wants desperately to be accepted by the cool kids in his class. Naturally a little nerdy, he gravitates to Victor and basically annoys him until he agrees to let him be his lab partner. He is more than a little gullible and is easily tricked into giving away Victor’s precious secret and unwittingly starting the whole mess with the other monsters.

[TOSHIAKI] A Japanese Male 8-11 years old. Toshiaki is the natural leader of the cool kids in Victor’s class. He is a good athlete, and an avid little league baseball player but Toshiaki has a mischievous side. He is the one that ultimately manipulates E into giving up the secret of Sparky and it is his idea to turn the other animals into monsters. He is Japanese and his monster creation is a little Godzilla lizard.

[BOB] A Caucasian Male 8-11 years old. Bob is the dumb, jockey kid. He has more brawn than brains. He follows Toshiaki and Nassor around even when it means that he has to be the one to test the home made jet pack that Toshiaki has created.

[NASSOR] A Middle-Eastern Male 8-11 years old. Nassor is the star of the little league team and just goes along with Toshiak’s plan. He is a bit more serious than the others but still doesn’t see the impending chaos when he chooses to bring his hamster mummy back to life.

[WEIRD GIRL] A Caucasian Female 8-11 years old. She has a very dark and ominous take on even the most mundane occurrences and jumps at the chance to bring some dead animals back to life.

[ELSA] A Caucasian Female 8-11 years old. Elsa is a sweet girl who likes to follow the rules and not cause too much trouble. A bit of a “goody two shoes,” she is not afraid to speak up and even corrects the teacher when he makes a mistake. She is excited about the festivities planned for the town’s Dutch Day parade and even has a solo dance number in the show.

Look for more information here as it comes out!

Johnny Depp to Receive Award

Johnny Depp is being honored at the 2009 Bahamas International Film Festival and will receive the award for Prestigious Career Achievemen, way to go Johnny!

The founder of the festival, Leslie Vanderpool, says, "There is no actor better suited to receive BIFF's highest honour, the Career Achievement Award. Johnny Depp is one of the finest actors of our generation and is, simply put, an icon. We're all tremendously excited to bestow him with this honor and celebrate his incomparable career.
"What makes this tribute to Johnny even more special is that he has a home in the Bahamas and possesses a true love and appreciation for the region and culture. This will be an amazing and magical event for everyone involved."

Dan Will Bare All in Potter!

No, your eyes don't deceive you. Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the boy, or should I say man, wizard in the awesome Harry Potter films will shed his robes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Read mugglenet.com's article about it here!
So, if so many changes and twists are already making their way into the last two films, what can we expect from Helena's scenes? Time can only tell... But we hope we get info soon!

First Picture from HP and the Deathly Hallows!

This not-so-exciting picture was released by USA Today ...today, and David Yates had this to say about the films:

“It’s going to feel very real. We’re going for a vérité approach. Being away from Hogwarts, they’re like these three refugees on the run. They’re out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don’t have a home to go to. We’re kind of pulling away from the magic a bit and bringing more reality to it.”

Remember that HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 comes out November 19th, 2010, and Part 2 comes to theaters July 15th, 2011.
