Alice UK Trailer and Picture

Just thought I'd post this picture that comes from the recently released trailer, if you haven't seen it yet, here's the longer, UK version:

Pirates 4 Update

Director Rob Marshall says that if Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides filming happens it will "start in the summer, and we'll see. I'm excited. If it happens, it happens. I'd be thrilled. I just love Johnny and I'm excited about the genre. I would need a script first," he said. "It all comes from the script and the story. You serve the story and you find out what the story is and then you work from there. That's it, it's simple."

New Alice Trailer!

A new Alice in Wonderland trailer came out midnight last night, if you haven't seen it yet, or want to watch it again for the 50th time like me, (it's so amazing!) here it is:

Tom Felton Talks HBC

In a recent interview by MTV, actor Tom Felton (who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films) had this to say about Helena:

"I've rarely had an opportunity to work with the evil family. I'm working with Helena Bonham Carter, who's a lovely lady and also a completely scary witch when she wants to be. I'm enjoying working with adult cast tremendously."

Dark Shadows to Beginning Filming Next Fall

After Alice Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (and Helena, presumably) are to team up again for their adaption of the ol TV show, Dark Shadows, which should begin filming in September 2010.
Producer Graham King says:

"We're actually going to shoot that film next September/October with Tim Burton and Johnny. We've been working on the script a lot, even though he's working on 'Alice.' We've been given a script. John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride) wrote the first screenplay. We're making some changes, but the film's going to be in production, as I say, September or October of next year."

Frankenweenie Character Breakdown and Details Surface

For quite some time now there has been bits of talk of Tim Burton remaking his short film, Frankenweenie. Now Character descriptions and some details about the project have shown up, keeping our hope for the movie alive. The following character voices for the stop-motion movie are all aged 8-11, so no clues on, if any, adult roles yet (and if Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham Carter will offer up their voices for the movie).

[EDGAR] A Caucasian Male 8-11 years old. Edgar is a needy little kid who wants desperately to be accepted by the cool kids in his class. Naturally a little nerdy, he gravitates to Victor and basically annoys him until he agrees to let him be his lab partner. He is more than a little gullible and is easily tricked into giving away Victor’s precious secret and unwittingly starting the whole mess with the other monsters.

[TOSHIAKI] A Japanese Male 8-11 years old. Toshiaki is the natural leader of the cool kids in Victor’s class. He is a good athlete, and an avid little league baseball player but Toshiaki has a mischievous side. He is the one that ultimately manipulates E into giving up the secret of Sparky and it is his idea to turn the other animals into monsters. He is Japanese and his monster creation is a little Godzilla lizard.

[BOB] A Caucasian Male 8-11 years old. Bob is the dumb, jockey kid. He has more brawn than brains. He follows Toshiaki and Nassor around even when it means that he has to be the one to test the home made jet pack that Toshiaki has created.

[NASSOR] A Middle-Eastern Male 8-11 years old. Nassor is the star of the little league team and just goes along with Toshiak’s plan. He is a bit more serious than the others but still doesn’t see the impending chaos when he chooses to bring his hamster mummy back to life.

[WEIRD GIRL] A Caucasian Female 8-11 years old. She has a very dark and ominous take on even the most mundane occurrences and jumps at the chance to bring some dead animals back to life.

[ELSA] A Caucasian Female 8-11 years old. Elsa is a sweet girl who likes to follow the rules and not cause too much trouble. A bit of a “goody two shoes,” she is not afraid to speak up and even corrects the teacher when he makes a mistake. She is excited about the festivities planned for the town’s Dutch Day parade and even has a solo dance number in the show.

Look for more information here as it comes out!

Johnny Depp to Receive Award

Johnny Depp is being honored at the 2009 Bahamas International Film Festival and will receive the award for Prestigious Career Achievemen, way to go Johnny!

The founder of the festival, Leslie Vanderpool, says, "There is no actor better suited to receive BIFF's highest honour, the Career Achievement Award. Johnny Depp is one of the finest actors of our generation and is, simply put, an icon. We're all tremendously excited to bestow him with this honor and celebrate his incomparable career.
"What makes this tribute to Johnny even more special is that he has a home in the Bahamas and possesses a true love and appreciation for the region and culture. This will be an amazing and magical event for everyone involved."

The festival takes place from December 10th-17th in the Bahamas.

Dan Will Bare All in Potter!

No, your eyes don't deceive you. Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the boy, or should I say man, wizard in the awesome Harry Potter films will shed his robes for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Read mugglenet.com's article about it here!
So, if so many changes and twists are already making their way into the last two films, what can we expect from Helena's scenes? Time can only tell... But we hope we get info soon!

First Picture from HP and the Deathly Hallows!

This not-so-exciting picture was released by USA Today ...today, and David Yates had this to say about the films:

“It’s going to feel very real. We’re going for a vérité approach. Being away from Hogwarts, they’re like these three refugees on the run. They’re out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don’t have a home to go to. We’re kind of pulling away from the magic a bit and bringing more reality to it.”

Remember that HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 comes out November 19th, 2010, and Part 2 comes to theaters July 15th, 2011.

Will Danny Elfman Compose Again For Spider-Man 4?

Director Sam Raimi is planning a 4th Spider-Man movie (hopefully with a big role for Bruce Campbell, but that's for a different blog) and we wanna know if Danny Elfman will do the music again. Unfortunately we don't know yet, when asked by MTV he says, " Who knows? Only the great gods of the movie world could answer that question. Imagine a chess game, the Greek gods moving us around — that's how it is in the movie world. Somebody's moving me about from one square to another, but I have no idea what square I'm headed to next."

We'll just have to keep waiting...

Wolfman Will No Longer Have Danny Elfman Music?

Danny Elfman was said to be composing the music for the new Wolfman movie, but now they're saying he's been replaced by Paul Haslinger (composed the score for the first and third Underworld movies). Officials are saying this is due to schedueling conflicts, the release date has already been pushed around a few times, and he's just not working out (some internet rumors are saying Danny has "problems with the film" but that's not confirmed.) Danny Elfman's score has already been writen and recorded and has been called “a traditional, grandly gothic effort a la Kilar’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula” by Cinemusic.
I assume we'll probably get to hear at least some of this tracks at some point, either if they leak on the internet or are possibly released by the filmmakers or put on the DVD. We'll be seeing Wolfman set to Paul Haslinger music in January 2010.

Posters!

The Mad Hatter facebook page was schedueled to release some new content today, this is part 1 of 3 posts, does this image seem familiar? It's a portion of a magazine scan previously posted, so my guess is that at least one or both of the other posts is the rest of the image. The next morsel will be reviled when 7,500 people like the facebook post (3,708 after 3 hours of being posted, check HBCfanclub for the next bit of content when it comes out.)

And another Johnny Depp related poster came out today, the US theatrical poster for The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, check it out!

Dr. Parnassus comes out December 25th, 2009.

New Alice Character Pictures

A new magazine scan gives us a glimse of Alan Rickman's Caterpillar, the characters all look amazing, I cannot wait for the movie!

From http://www.slashfilm.com:
"The full-page image comes courtesy of Deviantart user Nate Lestrange who appears to have scanned it from a magazine (I’m guessing the official zine of Disney club D23, but it’s not entirely clear) while the Caterpillar close-up, I searched out and found at the Photobucket page of NBXZero."

If you've been following the Mad Hatter Fanpage on facebook, you know they're releasing something new tomorrow, possibly a better version of this picture, or maybe a new trailer? I'm hoping maybe a clip of the a Danny elfman track from the movie, that would be amazing! We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see what it is!

Apparently there has been some director swittching as well, so we'll have to see how this plays out and if Johnny will actually be in the film.

"I'm pretty sure that there will be [a fourth], I would be amazed if there weren't, given the success of the first three."

Johnny Depp talks about Characters

Johnny Depp told Joy magazine:

"The person I represent must be somehow special. I was totally fascinated of John Dillinger in Public Enemies  for example. And Captain Jack Sparrow was revolutionary - a bank robber but at the same time national hero.

"My success came on its own. However, I was very lucky. For example, directors like Tim Burton fought for me when Paramount didn't want to give me the lead role in Sleepy Hollow.

"When I made the breakthrough I was regarded as the new James Dean. But the biggest compliment I ever received was the comparison with Marlon Brando. He is my idol - and was my best friend."

What ever happened to Tim Burton's Frankenweenie Remake?

It's been awhile since we've heard news about Tim Burton's remake of his short film, Frankenweenie, but Producer Allison Abbate (who is working on the new movie Fantastic Mr. Fox) assures us it's still in the works, but far off. Two years is the estimate, but when it does start filming it should be done around London, and it seems at this time that it'll be done in Black and White like the original (hooray!) and possibly in 3-D.

Pre-Order HBP!

Hey everyone! Exciting news! You can now pre-order Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on DVD, Blu-ray, and Amazon Video On Demand! For more info, check out Amazon.com!

Ozzy Osbourne Wants Johnny Depp to do a Biopic of his Life

Musician Ozzy Osbourne just released his autobiography, I am Ozzy, so what's next? He says:
"What's left to wish for? A number one album would be good. And to have a movie made of the book, maybe with Johnny Depp playing me - I'd like that."

That sure would be an interesting movie, wouldn't it?

Michael Sheen talks Alice

Michael Sheen talked to Parade about his role as the White Rabbit in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, he says:

"I’m doing the White Rabbit in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Everyone has an inner white fluffy animal, it’s just a question of finding it before it’s too late.”

“The White Rabbit is such an iconic character that I didn’t feel like I should break the mould too much, so I just sort of went with it.”

“The story had a huge impact on me as a child and it’s stayed with me ever since, so to be part of Tim Burton’s version is just like a dream come true.”

Sin City 3 Still in Talks

In an interview with Gerard Butler, Sin City 3 (which has Johnny Depp's name tied to it, if you'll recall) was brought up. The MTV interview says:
"I could see myself working with Frank again," said Butler. "But, I don't know. Graphic novels are things that I wouldn't do a lot of, so I would have to really choose carefully before I did."

But one movie that the duo already discussed is a future "Sin City" installment. "At one point, he talked to me about one of the 'Sin City' [movies]," Butler explained. "And we discussed that."

He continued: "There's a kind of cool character I think in the third one, but it was all very kind of soft talk."

If Butler boards "Sin City 3" that would mean that he could star in the film opposite actors like Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, who have previously confirmed their involvement in the third movie. If we could only skip the annoying second installment.
There hasn't been much news lately about Johnny Depp's involvment in Sin City 3 (there hasn't been a Sin City 2 released yet, so that's no surprise) but if anything comes up we'll post it!

(NO ONE is too old for Halloween!) If you're at a loss of who to dress up as, why not dress up as your favorite Nightmare Before Christmas character? How about Bellatrix or another Potter character? Johnny Depp directing a music video?!

This is so amazing:
From Justjared.buzznet.com:

Johnny Depp makes his directorial debut filming a music video on Tuesday (September 22) at Hatfield House in Herts, England.

The 46-year-old actor directed the music vid for the British indie band Babybird, which is fronted by Stephen Jones. Also featured in the vid is British actor Stephen Graham (This is England, Snatch!).
While filming, Johnny was seen slipping a noose around Stephen Jones’ neck as well as taking a few cigarette breaks.

Check out some Babybird music on their MySpace.

Geoffrey Rush is excited for Pirates 4

Geoffry Rush (who plays Captain Barbosa in the Pirates films) is excited for Pirates 4, On Stranger Tides. He says, “They’re waiting for the screenplay writers to put together something that’s beyond the trilogy, take it off into a new direction so that it’s fresh and hopefully really interesting for an audience, that they’re not going to just sausage-machine out something else, which wouldn’t be so good.”

Too many internet reports have exaggerated Johnny Depp's lack of enthusiasm about the movie, due to the loss of Dick Cook, but I believe he will follow through with the movie (that's my thoughts, other sites seem to be stretching what Johnny said about being sad to not work with Cook, but he has also said that Capt. Jack is his favorite role, and he has the most fun on the pirates set, but what do you think will happen?). Though Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are said to have turned down On Stranger Tides, which is mostly true. It's hard to tell what reports are official, most are kinda sketchy, but this is where the film stands now, return to HBCfanclub for the latest Pirate news! =D

HBC to be the Voice of Macmillan Cancer Support ad

Johnny May Drop out of Pirates 4??

If you haven't heard, Mr. Dick Cook has left the disney family after working there for 38 years, which has made Johnny Depp consider dropping out of Pirates 4, he says: "He said, 'I'd like you to hear it from me before you hear it from someone else or read it. He said today was my last day. He didn't give me a reason."

Cook was the reason Johnny got involved in the Pirate movies in the first place, "He said, 'We're thinking about doing this 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie, I said I was in. This was before there was a script or anything."

About doing the 4th movie:
"There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment. It was all born in that office."

When his decission is revieled, you'll see it on HBCfanclub right away.

Tim Burton Inspired Photo Shoot

Tim has inspired, and did a cameo in, the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar, check out these pictures from Thefrisky.com:

Helena's next role?

Monstersandcritics.com reports HBC is in negotiations to play Britain's Queen Mother in The King's Speech, directed by Tom Hooper. Pirates of the Caribbean star, Geoffrey Rush, and actor Colin Firth are also attached to the project.
Firth says, "The film takes place before she took on the cuddly Queen Mum mantle, when she was much younger, making Helena ideal. This was when her husband - then the Duke of York - was going through the Abdication crisis and had to prepare himself for public speaking."
The movie should be filmed in London late this year and released late in 2010.
More information will be posted when it's released!

A Good 9 Review

I liked this review of 9 from thedartmouth.com

"Computer graphics have become a staple of modern cinema. Few movies are released without CGI, and many recent computer-animated films — such as “Wall-E” (2008) and “Up” (2009) — are favorites of our generation.
As a fan of this expanding medium, I find it disappointing that computer animation is never featured in action and horror movies. For this reason, it was a thrill to watch “9,” which finally introduces the computer-animation genre to a more mature audience.
“9” is an absolutely gorgeous film full of suspense, and the animation makes it possible for the creators to include sequences that would be impractical with live action."

We want to hear from you!

There is less than a week left to vote on our poll, and we want to know, what do you want to see on HBCfanclub? More graphics, contests, fan art? Or something else? We ask if you'd comment on this post with any changes or additions you'd like to see, because we want to make the site better for you! And if you ever have and complaints, compliments, or comments you can email them to HBCfanclub@gmail.com and we'll get back to you quickly.

And don't forget that we're looking for fan art, so if you have any original pieces that are HBC, Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, or Johnny Depp related, we want them!

We hope to hear from you!

Tim And Johnny in Anaheim!

So we knew that Tim Burton was going to the D23 Expo today, but I didn't know that Johnny Depp would show up! AND he was dressed at Capt. Jack! WHAT?! And Disney released the title of Pirates 4, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

LA Times Blog reports the excitement:
As 5,000 fans jumped to their feet, the star emerged in full character, with his bleary ballet of the forever besotted Jack Sparrow.
Cracking wise about rum he also said he'd like a little snack -- that nice frog named Kermit who had been on stage earlier and "probably tastes like chicken."

I wish I had been there... If you were lucky enough to be at the expo please comment with your experience! And if you're sad for missing out like I am, go ahead and voice your sorrows in a comment as well, maybe it will make you feel better...

Thanks! News, Reviews

Hey all, I just wanted to continue to thank everyone who entered the contests!  We received some stunning art, some witty poetry, and many other fantastic entries!  For those who entered almost every contest... we take our hats off to you!
As far as other site related news goes, we expect to have a fan art page in which we will post the entries from the contest (with entrants permission) and other fan art you wish to send in!  We hope to get that up and running fairly soon, though we are quite busy!
If you haven't already seen the new poll, check it out!  Remember that there's a new poll about every 1 to 2 weeks!  Think you have a good poll question?  Send it in!  We'll review it, and you might just see your question on the site!
Overall, this has been a fantastic week.  We got great contest entries, have new plans for the site, AND I was fortunate enough to see 9 on the opening day with my site partner (read her review here.)  I thought it was absolutely brilliant, the animation was revolutionary, and the voice talent was perfect!  I would encourage you all to go and see it if you haven't already, and if you have, send in your reviews to be posted on the site!
Have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend!
