Tim Burton's Frankenweenie Remake Gets a Release Date

The long talked of, Tim Burton produced, Frankenweenie remake now has a release date of March 9, 2012 announced today by Disney. The movie is a stop-motion, 3-D revamp of Tim Burton's 1984 short film. This project has been in the works for a very long time, and even though March 2012 seems like a long ways away, it's nice to see things are moving along.

The Telegraph reports that HBC will star in a BBC film, Toast, about the writer, Nigel Slater. Slater will be played by Freddie Highmore, who worked with Helena on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, read more at the link!

--Burton is said to be making yet another movie (first a Sleeping Beauty and an Addams Family adaption, Frankenweenie, Dark Shadows, producing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and then Monsterpocalypse was the latest rumor) this time it's one he wanted to make back in the 80's, "Mai, the Psychic Girl".
