Addams Family Update

Even though rumor about Tim Burton making an Addams Family movie were said to be false, Burton's name is apparently still tied to the project according to producer Christopher Meledandri. He said that, as of now, the movie will be stop motion and not computer animated, and in 3-D.
When talking to Comingsoon he said: "It's all very, very early, but we are developing with [Tim Burton directing] in mind. We're just now at the story phase. Stuff has been written as though we are doing it in black and white, but that's not correct. It's not incorrect, but it's not correct. We haven't gotten to that point." So if Tim Burton gets confirmed as the director we'll of course let you know, but as of now it looks like he could or could not.

Burton Says Addams Family Rumors Aren't True

MTV Movies Blog asked Tim Burton's associates if the rumors about his Addams Family project were true to which they responded, after speaking to Tim directly, "There is no truth to the story. Tim has not lined up any of his upcoming projects."
No upcoming projects lined up? We're not sure if that includes his involvement with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter or his Sleeping Beauty film. Tim also has his Dark Shadows adaption and the Frankenweenie remake that's been in talks for forever. So at the moment it's unclear what Burton's next film will actually be, if I had to guess I think it'll probably be Dark Shadows and I think he'll probably produce Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with Timur Bekmembetov, but we'll post updates as soon as they're available.

Tim Burton's Next Project: The Addams Family???

Http://www.deadline.com reports that Tim Burton's next project could be with Universal’s Illumination Entertainment who just got the rights to the original Addams family pictures which appeared in the New Yorker that inspired the TV series and movies. Presumably Burton would make a 3-D, stop motion movie based on the drawings, not the series from the 60s or any films/shows from then on.
