Is HBC Pregnant Again?

I don't think so, but this article from Monstersandcritics.com has popped up:

Tim Burton - The 'Harry Potter' actress - who has two children with her film director partner Tim Burton, Billy, five, and 20-month-old Nell - sparked rumours she is expecting again after she was spotted wearing a succession of floaty outfits.

A source said: "Helena is definitely pregnant, and is really suits her. She has a neat little bump already, and seems to be glowing."

Shortly before Nell's birth, Helena revealed she had struggled to fall pregnant a second time.

She tried fertility drugs and acupuncture, and was considering opting for IVF (in vitro fertilisation) when she discovered she was expecting.

Helena explained: "I think we probably would have tried IVF, yes. Obviously, you don't know what you'd do unless you were actually in that situation. There was an argument for just having one child, because we thought if that's the way it's meant to be, so be it."

I don' t think that because she's wearing "floaty outfits" and because one not very trustworthy source says so that it's true, but I'll put it out there and if there's any follow up saying either she is or not then I'll pass it onto you!

Sweeney Posters, Designing Sweeney, and Helena's "Pregnancy Gripes"

Five new Sweeney posters have been released, here's the complete set of them all:

From The Envelope, "Styling Sweeney"
Oscar-winning production designer Dante Ferretti brings a dark and bloody Victorian England to its full Grand Guignol life in Tim Burton's "Sweeney Todd," a gothic horror tale of revenge and love based on Stephen Sondheim's Tony-winning musical. Originally, it was planned that there would be minimal sets built for the film starring Johnny Depp as the demon barber of Fleet Street. The majority of the design would be done with computer graphics.

"Then we started to prepare the movie, we thought maybe it would be better to build it on a set and then complete it with CGI," says Ferretti. "We built everything from scratch. It's not difficult to do a movie in all visual effects, but this kind of movie, actors have to be surrounded by something that is real." Ferretti says that, visually, "Sweeney Todd," which opens next month, is two movies. The reality is "very dark and very heavy" -- Todd's barbershop, for example, is sparsely furnished, almost institutional, with a big window the main light source. But the flashbacks and dream sequences are more colorful and lush, such as Sweeney's daughter's bedroom.

Here's 5 of Helena's gripes from http://www.raisingkids.co.uk, click the link to read the rest.

The RK office just loves this article in the current issue of Blackbook magazine, by actress Helena Bonham Carter on things that annoy her while she's pregnant. It's so good, we're just going to reprint it in full. Enjoy!

Here is my knee-jerk list of the little things in life that irritate. (I’m pregnant, so basically everything annoys me.) Such as:

1. People-particularly men-saying with surprise, “You’re still drinking caffeine?” as if I’m performing a criminal act on my unborn as I tuck into my treasured one-a-day cup of tea/coffee. Yeah. You try nine months of gestation and self-abnegation before you start censoring my diet. Your mother was probably on vodka, and do you have three heads?

2. People who say, “Is there another in there?,” or, “Wow, you are soooo big!!!” One might not be technically fat, but still “big” does not work for me.

3. People I don’t know who, unsolicited, guess, with absolute conviction, what sex of child I’m going to have. (I have no idea.)

4. Seeing actresses in films and models in catalogues pretending to be pregnant with a solitary neat football of a bump on an otherwise unchanged body. Haven’t they noticed that everything inflates… boobs, bum, legs.

5. The congestion charge in London. And the fact you can’t buy a bulk amount of credit in advance, which means that if you forget to pay, you get charged for your amnesia.

News For November 19th

Alright, so a report back from Josh Horowitz about the 17minute screening of Sweeney in New York. (From http://moviesblog.mtv.com)

Seventeen minutes does not a movie make but I’m willing to go out on a pretty secure limb here and say “Sweeney Todd” looks pretty good. Last night I got a chance to watch three scenes of the eagerly anticipated musical starring Johnny Depp and directed of course by the master of the macabre, Tim Burton (I also had a chance to talk to him at some length! See dorky photo to the right!) And one thing is for certain, this is a musical. Forget any ads that may have you thinking it’s got the occasional song thrown in. The scenes I saw barely contained any dialogue not sung.

I can’t be objective about any Tim Burton film really (yes mom, I skipped school to see “Batman”) but I will say that I am cautiously optimistic about the finished product. Sure there’s music galore but the flick also looks to be bloody good fun. And I mean that literally, the final clip shown featured a long series of victims of the demon barber getting their throats cut rather gruesomely.

You can read my full “Sweeney Todd” report here. In the meantime, tell us what you think. Are you psyched for “Sweeney” or would you rather watch “Edward Scissorhands” on TBS again?

An article about Helena and her pregnancy from http://www.thaindian.com here's a snippet:

The 41-year old, who is eight months expecting with beau Tim Burton’s baby, does not like people advising her what to do during her pregnancy.

People - particularly men - saying with surprise, ‘You’re still drinking caffeine?’ as if I’m performing a criminal act on my unborn as I tuck into my treasured one-a-day cup of tea/coffee, the New York Post quoted her, as telling blackbookmag.com.

Well that was all but a paragraph, but it's good for their site!

And another from http://www.waleg.com regarding her pregnancy.

Information about a new book coming out about Hunter S. Thompson (a character that Johnny Depp portrayed) including an introduction indeed written by Johnny, who by the way is a great writer, you should defiantly check out some of his storys. Learn more at
http://books.monstersandcritics.com And make sure that you check out the full NYT article, a link is at the bottom of the article.

And finally a sad note. Johnny's next scheduled project is, at this point in time, is postponed with the future looking bleak. Http://www.allheadlinenews.com writes;

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Johnny Depp's latest passion play has become the most recent victim of Hollywood's ongoing writer's strike: "Shantaram", slated for a February production start, has been indefinitely called off.

Warner Brothers studios bought an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Gregory David Roberts for some $2 million - a purchase fueled by the incessant fervor of Depp, who is also scheduled to produce the project alongside Graham King.

The epic story traces an escaped prisoner's rise and fall as a con artist and gun-runner in the slums of India. Esteemed screenwriter Eric Roth has been rewriting the adaptation with shooting supposedly planned for both India and New Mexico.

Nonetheless, Depp, director Mira Nair, and the studio all plan to move forward with the picture as soon as possible.

Helena Bonham Carter, alternative therapy devotee, tells Andrea Manzi-Davies how she resorted to fertility drugs in her quest to conceive a second child at 41

Pregnancy at 41 certainly agrees with Helena Bonham Carter. Seven months into carrying her second child, vibrant and beaming, she is licking big globules of Marmite – her latest craving – off her fingers.

Helena Bonham Carter: "Hormonally, I was all
over the shop"

She knows she is lucky. Not because of her successful acting career maintained over 25 years but because, after trying for two long years, she finally managed to conceive naturally.

Bonham Carter already has one son, Billy Ray, four, with her partner, the cult film director Tim Burton, best known for the Gothic Edward Scissorhands and two of the Batman films.

Helena's Nifty Outfits

Special thanks to www.helena-world.com

September 1, 2007 from the Daily Mail.

by James Tapper

She calls herself the “Antichrist of Fashion’.

And Helena Bonham Carter certainly lives up to her self-proclaimed title in this bizarre outfit.

The pregnant actress sported a particularly frumpy skirt, striped Nora Batty-style long socks and wedge-heeled bovver boots on a trip out in London.

Oscar-nominated Helena, 41 - who is expecting her second child in December with film director Tim Burton - appeared to be practising her deep-breathing techniques.

For the star, the ensemble was just another example of her ’shambles chic’ that has seen the Harry Potter actress become a regular in the worst-dressed fashion lists.

Ironically, Helena built her career playing well dressed and tightly-bodiced women in Eighties period costume dramas such as Howards End and Room With A View.

But fashion expert Karen Kay said: “Outside movies, Helena has never been known for a polished sense of style and could politely be described as an English eccentric.

“Dressing through pregnancy was always going to throw up some interesting concoctions.”
